Outlook gal is not updating

All contacts are shown correctly when accessing webmail but not from within Outlook.Normally, the offline global address book will be updated in a regular interval in Outlook, such as every 30 minutes. This can happen after a long period of use with outlook and happens for no apparent reason. Right click on Default Offline Address List and click on Rebuild. This article shows how to manually update the Global Address List (GAL) in Outlook (version 2010 and above). The Global Address List is a directory of contact information that is stored in a central place called the Exchange Server.Alternatively, you can wait till after Exchange has updated the OAB on its current schedule. When clients download the updated OAB, the new users will show up.

You are unable to see his information in your address book.

The most recent version of the Global Address List will be downloaded from the CUMC IT Exchange server.

You may see a status window indicating the download's progress, it will automatically disappear when completed. Re-open Outlook and log in; the Global Address List should now contain the most recent information.

After completing these steps, you can reopen Outlook, make sure that it is not in Offline mode, and search for an email address to confirm that it is now referencing the most current global address book.

After updates to the Exchange contacts, client reported not being able to see the updated version.

If there is significant differences, the server will send a full Sync Recommended request to the client that will cause the recommendation to appear.
